In Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps, we got to see more of Michael Douglas once again. Gekko is definitely back!

In this film we witness Mr. Gekko’s released from prison. Having served his sentence, he is now ready to embrace freedom once more. Unfortunately, after his released he found out that he has no one t tun to. Basically, no one is there waiting for him. Gekko resorts to having tours around the world, being a best-selling author. Though busy, he’s desire to make lots of money is still there. It won’t be longuntil he’s going to fulfill what he’s dreamed of doing- making money that is.

Apart from Gekko, we are presented with a young trader in the person of Jake Moore (Shia LaBeouf). Aside from making profits he has the ambition of changing the world.

We also see Jake proposing to Winnie Gekko portrayed by Carey Mulligan. With regards to her father, Winnie thinks she’s got nothing to do with Mr. Gekko anymore. She believed their relationship to have been totally ruined. Although Jake’s aware between this father-daughter feud, he proceeds anyway to meeting Mr. Gekko in one of his book signings. He approached the old man and introduced himself as Winnie’s future husband. Jake has the intentions of reconciling both father and daughter. Winnie’s initial warnings against her father comes to no avail, Jake is committed to getting things done well with his father-in-law. Fortunately, the two hit it off and become confidantes regarding business tips.

It was interesting to note that Douglas had undergone some kind of transformation here, I never expected him to be too soft in this film. He’s acting and all is all the way commendable. But if I were to choose I’d rather have the ruthless Mr. Gekko than the soft one. It doesn’t seem like more of Wall Street but I still enjoyed the movie though. Michael Douglas is really the best!
